The Heart Behind Brownstone
Why Candles Matter
Our goal at Brownstone is simply to create fine fragrances that remind people of life’s most precious memories, prompt more special moments, and the feeling of being known with the people we find ourselves lucky enough to be around. We want to remind people of the joy in their past, feel emotionally hugged in the present, and look forward to and inspire meaningful memories in the future.

Depths of Purpose
Candles that make you think and feel.
Trigger one's memory, and thus, you trigger their emotions.
Through prayerful consideration and craft, something as simple as a smell will quickly lead to positive emotions and social reactions in people who enjoy and commune around Brownstone candles.
If smells can make you think, then we need to make candles that provoke people and make them think and feel great!
Cheap scents are often the fruit of harsh smells which may be pleasing on the nose for a second, but the aroma doesn't linger in the air, much less- last in your memory. Harsh candles that smell good for a minute and fade aren't worth making, so they certainly won't provoke positive emotional reactions in those who try them.
The best fragrances (like the best food and wine) should make you stop and think. Something inside of you should leap, and your face should come alive as a Brownstone fragrance invokes a reaction in your body's memory that takes your mind a minute to catch onto. You shouldn't be able to pick off any odorant immediately, as the complexity is balanced, and it takes time to discern what makes our bouquets of aroma so great.

Layers of Meaning
Candles that transport you to a moment in time.
Smell is one of the most remarkable associations in how our brain thinks and communicates with all our other senses and emotions in the body.
Brownstone fragrances are comforting, completely nostalgic, and take you to a place you haven’t been in years or a memory you want to last a lifetime.
We’ll always have a collection of aromas that make you think and fragrances that immediately transport you to a place in time.
Our comforting fragrances should be completely nostalgic and take you to a place you haven’t been in years or a memory you want to last a lifetime. Our smell is one of the most remarkable associations in how our brain thinks and communicates with all our other senses and emotions in the body. We need to be spending much more intentional time on how the smells we produce impact people and their memories in the most positive ways.

Saturate everything you do
Because ultimately, you'll feel like you think.
If our fragrance can get people to stop, think, and dwell on pleasant memories, they’ll feel tremendously better, and that joy will permeate the lifestyles of all those around them.
Light overcomes darkness, and we aim to pass this intention on through our candles to those who enjoy them.
We want to use our delicate fragrance to overwhelm people with feelings of love, comfort, and joy so that they can feel peace throughout each day that surpasses understanding and prompts others to do the same.
