The Heart Behind Brownstone
Your Story Matters

Along the way, due to a fast-paced or overly-stimulated life, we began shortening stories to how they ended and not how people felt along the way. Telling what happened and not who people were along the way has caused people to forget what the journey can feel like and made life seem transactional, mostly about what we do and not who we are.
We have larger friend groups and more stuff than ever before, but all of it’s without heart. It’s why the world has never been more blessed but unsettled simultaneously. We have ample stuff without meaning and know plenty of people without knowing their hearts. If you stop and think, we can all agree that our highly opinionated world is just the fruit of simple people who don’t feel like anyone knows their heart or value what they choose to believe. Despite appearances, even the most popular people feel pretty alone today.
More than a work (what you do), you're a person.
And when we start making life about people again, prioritizing who they are and where they’ve been, we can join alongside each other, enjoy the privilege of unity, and look forward to where we can all go together as one.
-
"You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb. I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!"
Psalms 139 TPT
We believe that if you take time to listen to the heart behind how people feel and where they’ve been, you’ll soon realize we all feel the same; our circumstances often have just looked different. It turns out, after all, that what we feel could be the key to unity and a valuable (simple) solution that brings us together, making us all feel known [in Him].
The antidote for feeling alone and unknown is sharing what your heart feels.
Share what's in your heart not what's in your head, knowing a hard heart never gets anywhere, but a vulnerable can unlock all of life's mysteries.
-
"A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them."
Ezekiel 36:26-27 AMPC

Your story does matter. It may not influence millions on Instagram or change the world while sitting on The New York Times Best Seller list, but it could affect a community and change someone’s world right next to you.
Your stories matter and your memories are more than relevant. They’re what give life and keep you feeling loved, seen, and excited to walk in the world before you.
Life is not that bad. More often than not, we’ve just digested too much of the wrong narrative along the way. So here, feel free to shift the focus. Share your story, enjoy others, and become part of a new community with Brownstone Candles.
We make candles that make you think and feel, and we’d love to hear what you’ve thought and felt when enjoying Brownstone Candles.
-
What memories did they spark, or which ones did they make?
-
How did a person feel, knowing how intently you thought of them?
-
How did your life change when you prioritized feeling good, taking care, or treating yourself?
-
And how much more did it mean to your family to feel better, relax, and love around Brownstone Candles?

A final thought.
Suppose people never took time to write what they felt, had seen, or experienced. In that case, we’d never know about all the testimonies we’ve read about in the bible, much less would God have had the opportunity to bring them all together as a collective, as a book, calling it His Living Word.
Your heart is a piece of His, you’re made in His image, your story matters too. 🤗
